Vorwort

There is this Country. Well, country-like Region. Whatever. It has Oil, lots of it. You, representing a benevolent Oil Corporation, want to help the poor country selling this oil for a profit. Call it development aid or something like that. However, it is not entirely clear who actually rules this country, the so-called “Government”, the “National Liberation Front” or the noble “Guerillas”. To make sure the playing field remains level and democratic, you also sell Weapons to each of these Factions. Unfortunately, these poor, underdeveloped people are easily corrupted by power, money, power and money. Corruption is already pretty high, but as long as it does not reach 100 percent, you probably will work here, earn money, and try to save this country. Go, you! With a little help from your friends.

This is basically a zoom into one of the Regions in Peak Oil, and simulates on a higher resolution what actually happens in these Regions when you “Drill for Oil” or “Sell Oil” from one of these countries. As such, it is not really meant to represent a real location, but more the idea of all of them.

The goal of the game is be the player with most money in the bank when corruption in the country reaches 100%. You can do so by exploiting oil fields, selling weapons, diverting other player's oil and generally by being a bit evil. Nobody said that being a top executive of an oil company working in a developing country would be easy.
