X: Ganz schön knifflig! is a roll-and-write game. On a player's turn, they roll four dice, then pair them off in sets of two, score them on a score sheet, and allow the non-active players to choose and score a single pair for themselves.

The goal of the players is to tick rows completely because only then they can score points.
