Vorwort
Gooseberry is a short, light social-deduction game inspired by Fake Artist, Spyfall, and Codenames.
Players are all at a party discussing a topic, but one person is secretly the "Gooseberry" and has no idea what the others are talking about. The Gooseberry has to remain hidden and figure out the subject while all the others try to identify them.
The game begins with players agreeing on a topic and everyone contributing subject words to that topic. (Alternatively you can use one of the pre-printed topics.) The chosen subject words are written on a grid. One code card is dealt to each player, with one player receiving the Gooseberry card. Dice are rolled and by looking at the dice every player other than the Gooseberry can use the code to identify the correct subject word. In turn, everyone now says aloud only ONE word that shows that they know the subject but is subtle enough not to reveal it to the Gooseberry. After discussion, all players vote on who they think is the Gooseberry. The Gooseberry wins if either they are not correctly identified or if they can guess the correct subject word.
